We recently did a Saturday demo at one of our local grocery stores, Mama Jean's. We were asked "How much of your shaker would I have to use to get a serving of kale?" The short answer is, a lot. While our shakers do contain one full bunch of kale, they are meant to enhance the foods you eat daily over an extended period of time. (Because we want to offer a serving or two of vegetables in one swoop, we will be introducing our Sneaky Greens Taco Mix in the next couple weeks. This mix will feature organic Mexican spices and one full bunch of kale per packet. That packet will season two lbs. of your favorite protein.) As far as the shakers, it's hard to estimate exactly, but we can give you an idea of the nutrients that kale supplies in a 1/2 teaspoon. The numbers below account for the nutrients that the kale adds. Keep in mind that our kale is always mixed with other beneficial spices like Himalayan Pink Salt and Organic Pepper, so the benefits that they add to the mix make the percentages even higher. Listed below are the nutrients with the highest amounts. There are many more in smaller amounts.
1/2 Teaspoon of Kale:
- 38% daily requirement of Vitamin K
- 11% Vitamin A
- 6 mg of Omega 3
- 5 mg of Omega 6
